In addition to describing domestic U.S. politics influencing the international war on drugs, please focus on two Latin American countries to illustrate the consequences of U.S. drug control policies

The second section, which will take up the last 2 pages of the paper, must answer the question:
Democracy is expected to bring wellbeing, liberties, security, and prosperity to democratizing countries. Unfortunately, not all good things come together. By focusing on two Latin American countries, how does democratization may prevent some countries from controlling drug-related violence? In addition, how can the increasing levels of insecurity threaten the prospects of democracy?

Feel free to use one author as a source for both arguments, but there need to be at least 2 different sources per section.
For each of the two sections, please include:
– 2 sources for each section to back up your arguments, making a total of 4 sources. Use the mindmaps that are uploaded below. No formal bibliography is required but you should identify authors using parenthetical citations when using specific ideas, arguments, or concepts from different authors. Parenthetical citations use the last name of the author followed by the year in parentheses.
For example, you should use “According to Tilly (1985)” instead of “According to the book chapter ‘War Making and State Making as Organized Crime’ by Tilly.”
Direct quotations are not needed, but rather just refers to the idea of such authors whose main ideas are found in the uploaded documents.
