Introduction and Thesis: Essay begins by establishing kairos. Essay has a clear thesis which makes an argument that establishes exigence. Thesis clearly follows instructions for the essay prompt, including the 3 sentence templates.
Content: Essay follows the form of an Argument Essay,
Use of source material: Essay uses at least three sources to support claims. Essay makes clear that the source is a credible one, and that the source is used to support thesis statement or to introduce an opposing argument.
Good Reasons: Essay gives good reasons in support of claim.
Arrangement: Essay logically supports the central idea. Conclusion does NOT re-peat what has already been written. Conclusion uses another strategy to finish the essay (looks to the future, states the benefits of accepting essay’s thesis, shows what’s at stake in accepting the argument, etc. )
Grammar, Mechanics , and Language (Essay uses standard writing conventions and college-level vocabulary and syntax)
