What are the difference between how the nation is seen globally versus how Rick sees people in their hometowns?

Choose one of the countries that Rick Steves has visited and watch the corresponding video(s). Along with the video(s), include two (2) additional news sources on current events affecting this region. Briefly discuss and weave these current events into your writing.

After watching, consider the discussion prompt below:

1. Where does Rick travel to? What region of the world? How far back does the history of the nation go? Who are some of the people/leaders/presidents/religious leaders involved in global affairs?

2. Do you notice a difference between how the nation is seen globally versus how Rick sees people in their hometowns?

3. As Rick Steves travels across the region, what religious, ethnic and cultural differences does he find? What types of issues affect the people here?

4. Finally, to what other parts of the world should we (or Rick) travel? Could traveling abroad teach us something about the roots to political, ethnic, or social conflict? Can conflict be part of a transitional period to peace? What would that transition look like? (See Ch. 9 for more on transitional peace)

This assignment should be 3-5 pages in length to fully expand on the ideas in the prompt questions. Additionally, full and accurate MLA citations ARE REQUIRED for ANY sources you use (including the sources provided in this assignment). Points will be deducted if no source is cited, or the citation is inaccurate.
