ASSIGNMENT:

Create a human resource management policy to include recruitment, selection, benefits and compensation, performance evaluation, development of employees and formulation of human resource procedures.

Focus on the strategic role of human resources within the organization. Research examples to support the development of your business organizational overview.

Submission must be the students’ original thoughts based on the topics from the “Open Educational Resource” (OER) Course Textbook and/or other referenced sources. Direct quotes from references must be less than 20 words.

You are required to submit a (Title Page and 2 Pages of Content), APA formatted paper with substantial content. Substantial content requires staying on topic and fully addresses the assignment in a clear, concise, and meaningful manner.

SECTION PROMPTS:
For each section of the policy, as noted in ASSIGNMENT above, use the question prompts below to help write your policy statement paragraphs. Also included are prompts to help create an introductory paragraph.

Introductory paragraph:
1. In a few sentences, briefly describe your business. ( do this part, or write about, Cleaning services for homes and organizations for window cleaning, furniture, and appliances)
2. For the rest of that paragraph, describe the role that Human Resources plays in the company as a strategic partner.
For example, how does HR lead the way in the company as a change agent or add value to the business?

Recruitment & Selection:
1. Why does HR recruit and what type of people are they looking for to fill positions in the company?
2. Is the selection process solely HR responsibility or a collaborative event with hiring managers?
3. Include here a statement on the company’s diversity and equity in the selection process without going into step-by-step procedures.

Benefits:
1. Why does your company offer benefits to their employees? In other words, what type of atmosphere do you hope to instill or promote by offering benefits?
2. Include a brief description of the benefits your company offers without going into procedures.

Compensation:
1. Without going into procedures, briefly explain how you plan to compensate employees and why.
2. How will you ensure equity among employee compensation?
3. What will be HR’s role in this process as a strategic partner?

Performance Evaluation:
1. Without going into procedures or methods, explain why you will evaluate employees. In other words, why does your company evaluate employees and try to look at the positive side.
2. How will you ensure equity in the employee evaluation process?
3. What will be HR’s role in this process as a strategic partner?

Development of Employees:
1. Will your company offer training and employee development opportunities and why?
2. Will your company offer opportunities for employees to obtain degrees of higher education?
3. How will you ensure compliance with federal regulations via training programs?

Formulation of HR Procedures:
1. This section does not mean you will formulate procedures but answer the question who is responsible for developing the procedures. A statement always needs to be made to that effect within the policy.
2. Per your response in #1, who delegates that responsibility? The CEO, President of the company?
3. Who has final approval of all company policies? The Board of Directors?
