Instructions
1. Decide what topic you want to research.
2. Perform an internet search on the theory and select 1 – 2 peer–reviewed journal articles to use for your research. If you do not know how to determine if an article is peer–reviewed, take a look at “Peer–Reviewed Literature” by the NIH.
3. Prepare a two–page essay answering the questions found in #4.
a. Double–spaced with 1” margins.
b. APA formatting (Purdue Online Writing Laboratory (OWL) website)
c. Cover page and works cited page.
i. Cover page should include: Title of paper, student name, course, instructor’s name
4. Clearly state your theory – this should be the first paragraph of your essay with the following information.
a. Who published the theory?
b. When was the theory established?
5. Questions to be answered in the body of your essay:
a. How did this theory contribute to the study of biology?
b. What key takeaways did you have from the investigation of the theory?
c. Do you think further work/research is necessary on the topic?
d. Has a scientific law been developed on the topic?
6. Closing paragraph – summary of your thoughts on the theory
