Assignment: Enlisted Army Soldier wanting to be an Army Officer

You are an enlisted U.S. Army soldier. Your current MOS job in the U.S. Army is 36B Financial Management Technician. Your duties in the Army are: responsible for budgeting, disbursing, and accounting of government funds as well as maintaining/preparing files, financial reports, contracts, and invoices.

You demonstrate aptitude for leadership development, selfless service, and strong success orientation. You have qualities of what a good leader with good management skills can be but as an E-3 enlisted soldier you are not allowed to show those qualities whereas when you are an officer, you will be able to shine as a great leader.

You are half way done with a 4 year degree: Bachelor’s in “Business Administration” with a concentration in “DoD Project Management”. You have a 3.97/4.0 GPA which is above average compared to other applicants but your fitness scores are about average compared to other applicants.

This essay is the final item in your application which will determine if you become an officer.

There are only a few applicants selected from a large number of enlisted U.S. Army soldier applicants to become an officer using this “special” program which will allow you to finish your 4 year degree plus be trained as an officer and finally become an officer in the U.S. Army. Base your writing on the Scholar, Athlete, Leader – (SAL) concept.
