Article Review: Learning to lead
1. Read the article “Learning to lead” by Dermenchyan & Jeffery, located here.
2. The authors state that successful leaders “achieve their goals and influence others through self-assessment, feedback, and continued growth.” They go on to list six competencies leaders should possess to be leaders. List the six competencies, and briefly explain each one.
3. Which of the six competencies do you believe is most important for leaders to excel at? Why do you believe that?
4. The second page of the article has a Leadership Self-Assessment Tool. Complete it for yourself. Which areas were stronger for you, and which need improvement? Explain how you would improve in the areas.
