Assignment: Rhetorical Essay

For this essay, you will write three (3) to four (4) pages (at least 1,000 words) which expands upon your argument from Assignment #2 on the relationship between two pieces of art. (The same two pieces from the assignment.)

You are not being asked to choose which painting is better, as that is a subjective opinion, rather, what you will be asked to do is consider the rhetorical situation of each piece (context, purpose, audience) along with your own analysis and interpretation to decide which painting you find to be more effective at getting across its meaning.

To do so, you will be asked to critically analyze the paintings to decide upon their shared meaning and then, using the rhetorical appeals, argue your point as to which painting better embodies its meaning.

This essay requires the use of two (2) outside sources to strengthen and/or inform your argument.
