Guidelines (Read Carefully)
The essay must have a clear thesis statement.
The thesis statement must be supported by a minimum of 2 main points. 3 main points are recommended.
The main points must be supported by very specific facts, data, and/or evidence.
Provide historical context with dates, events, time period, and time frame.
The essay must be double spaced, 12 point font, and margins set at “Normal”.
The essay must be a minimum of 2 pages and no more than 4 pages, not including the list of sources.
Both your class/video presentation notes and the class textbook must be cited at least once in the essay.
You must cite at least one outside source in the essay.
All direct quotes, ideas, and facts pulled directly from a source, as well as all statistics, must be properly cited.
Recommended- 5-6 paragraphs.
Avoid absolute statements and hyperbole- both are difficult to support with facts, data, and/or evidence.

Use parenthetical MLA style citations with a citation page at the end of the essay.
