What are the 3 important body components of hematology?

This week’s discussion focuses on cardiovascular disorders.
Based on your readings and understanding of the topics or concepts, develop a question that applies to a concept or a disease process, wellness or illness you found interesting.
For full credit, your initial post should:
First introduce the question and create the question
-include 2 scholarly sources and 2 in text citations (one is an assigned reading, the other is a journal article or credible website)
Second part is answer peers question with an explanation.

Student response
Hello professor and class,

Cancers in the hematologic system lead to various conditions. These types of cancers affect the production of blood cells and the way they function. It starts with the bone marrow which is an integral source of blood production.

When your bone marrow mature, it develops into three types of blood cells: red cells, white blood cells, and platelets. When there is cancer, the interruption of blood production occurs due to the growth of abnormal blood cells.

Blood cancers occur in three types; Leukemia which is caused by excessive production of abnormal blood cells in bone marrow (Ottesen, 2019). As a result, the production of red blood cells and platelets are affected. The other type is Lymphoma which affects the lymphatic system which is responsible for removing excess fluids that are in your body to produce the immune system.

The last type is Myeloma which affects plasma cells. A plasma cell is responsible to produce white blood cells that are used to fight diseases in the body. Bone marrow or stem cell transplants are used to treat some cancers, severe immune deficiency, or severe blood cell diseases (Hubert & VanMeter, 2020).

Cause blood cancers are unknown but also some factors are known to associate with those types of cancer (Kochanek, 2019).

Aging is one of the factors. When you become very old, your body always becomes weak to produce enough blood cells. Family history is another factor which is associated with such type of cancers. The weak immune system is another factor and infections will affect the blood flow system.

The question to be answered by this discussion is, what are the 3 important body components of hematology?
