Select a home – it can be a house or an apartment. It can be your home, a relative’s home, or a friend’s home.

Research and find a home safety assessment tool online. Reference your selected home assessment tool appropriately on your reference page.
Describe the home in detail to include the type of home, age of the home, number, and age of current occupants.

Consider the following hazards: Physical hazards (slippery floors, objects in hallways, poor lighting, scatter rugs, etc). Chemical hazards (household cleaners, laundry detergent, food storage, medication, personal care items, etc). Electrical hazards (electrical equipment, electrical outlets, etc.). These are just some examples – this is not a complete list.
