HRM in a Global Setting
Economic, legal, and cultural variables take on a whole new meaning once you start managing employees beyond your borders. In previous modules, we acknowledged such differences from one province to another, so you can only imagine the scope when considering operating in another country!

For HR to be an effective partner to the business, and support the business in the achievement of its organizational strategic objectives, it must adapt and reflect the difference in culture, economy, technology, demographics, etc. in the policies, procedures and the day-to-day functions of human resources management.

Specifically, if you were to manage a workforce that is located in another country (maybe a subsidiary of the organization), you must pay close attention to cultural, legal, political, economic (labour cost), and labour relations factors.
