CRITICALLY DISCUSS THE CHALLENGES OF DEFINING RACISM AND THEIR IMPLICATIONS FOR UNDERSTANDING RACISM.
General Guidance:
* answers the question and all parts of it; has a main argument, considers counterarguments, critiques and/or alternative explanations. Your essay should predominantly deal with the UK because the unit is based on the UK.
* your essay should include at least 10 references. Your essay
must be fully and properly referenced, which means citing a source for all your assertions and facts. At the end of the essay, there should be a complete bibliography listing all the
books, articles and other sources you have used. References and Citations should be in Harvard Bath format.
* Well-structured work will be rewarded. The introduction should be short, telling the reader what’s coming (i.e. topic, approach, key theorists and main argument).
The final paragraph should present conclusion(s) reached on the basis of the evidence / theories you have discussed and problems or issues you have identified. The main body of the essay should develop your argument in a clear and logical fashion, it should evaluate evidence and theory and it should contain lots of signposting which explicitly links the discussion to the question.
* You are expected to offer an academic, analytical discussion – don’t devote too much space to unsubstantiated opinion or description. Moreover, remember to analyse the question and define key concepts before you start writing.
