Explore and analyse the external and internal factors that hinder the implementation of effective innovation management.

Section A:About the project

(i) What are the aims and objectives of the project (maximum 250 words)?

The study will evaluate innovation management practices across energy organisations in Bahrain in meeting the energy demands off the end-users, especially while producing energy through the decentralised model.

This is pertinent because innovation management can optimise power availability and enhance sustainability while transitioning from centralised models to decentralised models

. The end-user demand trends, as well as a range of internal factors, have impeded the implementation of effective innovation management in large-sized energy organisations, despite significant efforts being made to implement advanced innovation management techniques for transitioning from centralised models of energy production which is primarily based on conventional sources of energy to decentralised models that incorporate a substantial portion of renewable energy.

This study will reveal how innovation management can be strengthened in energy organisations in Bahrain to redress major challenges. Effective innovation management is essential for electricity enterprises to successfully transition to renewable energy sources, without impacting revenue end-user satisfaction on timely and adequate power supply.

Objectives
This study seeks to:

1. Understand and analyse current and emerging challenges confronting electricity organisations in Bahrain for transitioning from centralised to decentralised model.

2. Identify the key innovations that are being implemented by electricity organisations in Bahrain in response to major challenges arising from the adoption of decentralised models of energy production and find suitable solutions to resolve the challenges.

3. Explore and analyse the external and internal factors that hinder the implementation of effective innovation management.

(ii) Briefly describe the principal methods, the sources of data or evidence to be used and the number and type of research participants who will be recruited to the project (maximum 500 words).
