Criminal investigations

This assignment will be for the student to find and read an article on a criminal investigation. The sources for these are numerous and they include newspapers such as New York Times, NY Post, NY Daily News, and Newsday.

There are a lot of police journals also that feature crime stories.such as Law Enforcement Today, Police Tribune, The FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin, etc. Thanks to the internet, you are not limited to NY area also and there are many other cases nationwide.

You can also use magazines from credible sources as well as “credible” internet sites.  AVOID crimes stories from foreign countries DON’T USE THEM. The reason is the laws in them differ greatly from America and police limitations are completely at odds with our traditions.

What kinds of actitities they might be engaged in and you can be critical of an investigation if you wish.

Discribe the form of analysis of what investigators might be doing, an opinion as to what was done, either correctly or incorrectly, or possibly suggestions as to what investigators should do next.
