Monitoring Your Child’s Technology

We live in a digitally advanced world. Over the years, people’s access to technology has grown dramatically. There appears to be no way to avoid or escape, especially for young children growing up in this advanced technological world. Since technology has become such an important part of our lives, it has an impact on both the positive and negative aspects of our lives. As a result, as an adult, I am accountable.

All of these new technologies provide us with convenience, and this convenience causes the brain to become lazy. Children are not given enough opportunities to explore and learn in today’s technologically influenced world. My child spends the majority of the day with the technology and devices. She uses a computer and other learning devices at school as well. Her ability to think and be creative is being affected as a result of being surrounded by these devices all day. As I am concerned, I try to engage her in physical activities when she is at home and purchase books for her so she can spend time reading rather than playing with gadgets all day.

There was a time when kids enjoyed interacting, playing, and sharing. I believe that my child is now more interested in video games than in interacting with or spending time with others. It makes me more concerned when she wants to finish her homework quickly and without making any mistakes, and she does not want to spend time thinking or brainstorming. To encourage her to brainstorm, I discourage her from using calculators, which has been extremely beneficial, and her math skills have improved. I believe that if I continue to discourage the use of these devices, her thinking ability will improve significantly.

Another major issue is that technology is affecting the human brain’s attention span. I’ve noticed that my child continues to play video games or, after a long period of exposure to phone games, etc., she struggles to focus on anything. So, I decided to do some research on the internet and discovered that due to the widespread use of these devices, including cell phones, the human attention span has decreased over time. I managed to stop my child from playing video games, which may sound cruel, but it worked, and her attention toward things is improving. I believe I did the right thing at that time, but from here on out I will limit her playtime with video games in the future.

In conclusion, monitoring the child and the technology is critical because technology can be extremely dangerous if we do not keep an eye on it. It will have an impact on the child’s creativity and limit brain development. The children are spending more time with these devices, which is affecting their mental and physical abilities. As a result, there should be a time limit and constant monitoring.
