Issue Review Papers should not be approached like an essay for English class. Rather answer each question in order.

Make sure you fully address each question, but be concise.

1. Position on issue

b. List three facts or ideas (Evidence) from the readings that support the position (cite readings). Explain your reasoning of how the evidence supports the position (Reasoning).

c.What are the implications of this position? In other words, if this position were enacted, what could happen next?

2.  Conflicting position on issue

a.  In a sentence, summarize another possible position on the issue. (Claim)

b.  List three facts or ideas (Evidence) from the readings that support the position (cite readings). Explain your reasoning of how the evidence supports the position (Reasoning).

c.  What are the implications of this position? In other words, if this position were enacted, what could happen next?

3. What was the most interesting thing that you learned studying this issue? Why was it interesting to you?

4. Your position (may be similar but not exactly the same as Q1 or Q2)

a.  In a sentence, summarize your position on the issue. (Claim)

b. List three facts or ideas (Evidence) that support your position. Explain your reasoning of how the evidence supports your position (Reasoning). At least two supports must come from articles.

The articles may be ones assigned in class or ones you found on your own. The third support may be from an article or may be from personal experience/ personal moral code/ etc.

5.Clarity, grammar, and spelling

6. Appropriate citations are used in paper. Reference ideas or quotes from articles with (Author, year). If Author is unknown, cite publication source/website as author. If publication date of website is unknown, cite retrieval date.

Include a full reference in the bibliography for any article/website you found on your own (i.e. an article not assigned in class).

Author, A. A., (year, month day). Title of article. Name of Magazine, Volume, pages.
Ex. Website reference:
Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Date of publication). Title of document. Retrieved from http://Web address
