How does the problem manifest in this situation, what are the events/facts in the case that stem from the problem. In other words: what are the symptoms of the problem?

Summary/Background

Provide a very brief (34 sentences) summary of the key facts of the case. If the reader did not read the case what is the key information they need to understand the problem you subsequently discuss.

Problem

Clearly articulate the problem (one key problem). For example, if you go to a doctor and say:

State that the overreaching problem is the flu (and not that your nose is runny which is only a symptom of the problem). Similarly here, once you identify all the issues/symptoms based on the expertise you have from this class identity the overreaching problem.

State the problem (Support your statement with class material why is this a problem?

Emotional control/maturity, culture, leadership, organizational change, bureaucracy, perceptions, power dynamics/powerlessness etc.)

How does the problem manifest in this situation (Facts from the case) what are the events/facts in the case (i.e. runny nose) that stem from the problem. In other words: what are the symptoms of the problem?

What are the consequences (i.e. How may this problem influence others, the organization, teams etc.). (Conclusions based on identified facts) Only discuss the problem at this stage and NOT THE SOLUTION.

Solution

Clearly identify (12 sentences) the most appropriate solution.

Provide a detailed analysis of the steps you will take to implement the solution supported by the class material. If possible, provide alternatives. (Conclusions based on identified facts)

Why is this an appropriate solution for the problem? (Use class material to support your arguments).

MAKE SURE THAT YOUR SOLUTION IS SPECIFIC AND MATCHES THE PROBLEM (i.e. medicine for the flu and not Covid19).

Briefly state how will this solution solve the problem (connect it back to the problem).
