Investigate why teachers are leaving the profession is worth it. An effective way to do discover reason is to acquire information from teachers about their experiences as a teacher. This study will provide more research on what factors influence teacher retention.
Provide information to help provide school districts with strategies to use when trying to retain teachers. There are few studies have addressed this issue, so more studies are needed to evaluate the reasoning behind low retention rates in U.S. schools
Purpose of the Study
Find ways to mitigate unhealthy teacher stress, fatigue and burnout, to determine if strategies that encourage and motivate productive professional development via competitive physical, team building and bonding, and morale booster activities that promote healthy habits and prolong teacher retention.
Discover factors already present in schools used to retain teachers. This study will be based upon the perception and attitudes of teachers because they are the person most important to student success. They are also the closest to the issue of teacher retention.
Do a research that indicates the many possible reasons teachers choose to leave the profession, but investigating more about why they leave will help aid in retaining quality teachers. Furthermore, this study is intended to increase the knowledge and literature as it relates to retaining teachers in U.S. schools.
