Write a short reflection (~250-300 words) on what beliefs, mindsets, or ‘facts’ you brought in with you about early American history that you’ve reevaluated over the course of this class.

Students can focus on a reevaluation they’ve had of early American history, of traditional American ideals in light of the nation’s past, or on present social issues that have roots in the nation’s history, etc.

This is an open-ended prompt to get students to think about a specific (historically informed) viewpoint they’re taking away from this class. There are no right or wrong answers, but to get full marks on this assignment, students should give at least one specific historic example in their discussion of what’s helped them in their reevaluation of early American history, American ideals, and/or present social issues in America.
