A road map is not an actual map but 1-2 sentence/s that informs the reader
what your essay is all about. A road map is usually found at the end of your first paragraph.

It is usually written this way (don’t copy word for word – make your own): “This essay discusses Filipino migrant workers in Singapore and how their future lives are dependent on choices that are tied to place is based on the lecture given by _______ (name speaker).

Discuss the points raised by the speaker, offer my own interpretation of them, and relate this to the issue of ____ (identify a topic discussed in class/or based on a reading material used in class)”.

The essay should have a middle section or analysis that further discusses and expands your ideas or points that you raised.

There should be a concluding statement that summarizes your main ideas.
