Explain how to sum up and express one’s self in a creative brief as if you were developing and pitching a brand.

P1 – Week02-03 – Writing a pitch brief for your skills

Being able to express a challenge simply is at the heart of an effective, creative process.
In a few weeks we will be creating teams. The result of this work will help you pitch yourself to the rest of the class.

The task

How to sum up and express one’s self in a creative brief as if you were developing and pitching a brand

Use a brand essence model that we will discuss in class to help you think about characteristics, visual ideas and expression of your brand essence.

These models are MOAT and the Status/Ethos/Style/Ambition frameworks

The branded self brief you produce should be presented as a brief document and should include:

Research – what you know of yourself and what others believe

Summation – how you have defined your purpose, value, style and ethos into a single minded proposition

Expression – how could you simplify and focus this thinking visually – show visual references or a moodboard for this

Support – provide your rationale (3-4 paragraphs) and proposals for how your brand may be supported with imagery, language and typography

Present this as an a4 document in Powerpoint or Word.

This should have some creative thought applied. Illustrate your points with an image montage or drawing or infographic.

This document must be at least 3-5 pages long and will show thinking, development, background information and your proposed personal single minded proposition.
