Social work & Mutual Aid

These 3 discussions (taking place in classes 4, 6, and 9) will give you a chance to choose from a set of articles/resources related to a broad topic (mutual aid in class 4, global safety nets in class 5, and critical policy analysis in class 6) and to engage with peers in discussion and synthesis.

Prior to class, you should prepare a brief (no more than ½ page single-spaced or 1 page double-spaced) summary of the article or resource that you chose. Then, during class and in groups of 5-6 students, you’ll present your summary to your peers and, as a group, will answer some integrative questions (to be provided beforehand) which we can then share out in the large group.
