Drug Interactions
Drug interactions are very important in healthcare today. They may be harmful, and ultimately undermine the therapeutic process. For the Unit 2 Discussion you will recruit the help of your family members or yourself.
Create a list of medications taken by the family member or yourself for each medication:
Medication List; Creon 36,000 lipase unit capsules with every meal and snack, Protonix 40mg twice daily, Lipitor 40mg at bedtime, Seroquel 25mg at bedtime, Xanax 0.25mg as needed not to exceed 3 times per day, Ambien 10mg at bedtime as needed for sleep.
1. List drug-drug interactions; choose three you feel are the most important.
2. List food-drug interactions; choose three you feel are the most important.
3. Be sure to include the possible consequences of these drug interactions.
4. Include ways to prevent them from occurring.
