Children growing up with depression

SPEECH II INSTRUCTIONS
“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.”Albert Einstein

SPEECH II will be an informative speech. In this speech you are to teach your audience something about your subject.

Choose a topic that you enjoy, find interesting, and/or know a great deal about. Perhaps it could be something that pertains to your current studies or be related to an activity you’ve done for many years.

The object of this assignment is not to force you to spend hours studying a new subject in depth. The challenge is for you to learn how to adapt material for a specific audience in this case your classmates. Be sure to relate your subject to their experiences, interests, desires, needs, and/or concerns. The speech should be from 56 minutes long.

You will submit a brief statement that clearly defines what you are trying to teach your audience. It can be simple, but it should be specific. This can be accomplished in a single sentence or a short paragraph. You do not have to include your main points at this time, but it could prove useful in explaining your idea.

You must limit your main points to 2 to 3 points. Instead of trying to explore the breadth of your subject in such a short period, you want to focus on going into depth on these limited number of points by offering us a variety of descriptions, examples, stories, statistics, and testimonies to support them.

As with all your speeches you are required to turn in 2 outlines (preparation & speaking outlines) that are well planned, detailed, typed, and in the same format. You are required to properly site a minimum of 5 sources in a Works Cited along with the preparation outline. During the performance of your speech you must mention at least 3 of these sources.
