Upon completion of this assignment, the student will be able to:
Consult and collaborate with a community-based health care professional (school nurse)
Plan and write an outline of a health-related educational offering
Utilize the principles of growth and development in constructing a teaching strategy
Present a health-related educational offering to share with school age kids (handout, flyer, notecard, poster etc.)
Steps of Process
Identify the age-group (grade school, middle school or high school) that you are interested in.
Contact the school nurse/administrator/teacher at the appropriate school and choose an age-appropriate topic to present as a health-related educational offering based on community needs.
Write a rough-draft of your educational presentation in OUTLINE FORMAT
Write a teaching plan that includes rationales for strategies related to Growth &Development citing the developmental theorists
