Management Planning Exercise (Adder) – Padworth Common Local Nature Reserve

You are asked to write a management plan, using the approach introduced in the module, for ( Adder) identified for the Padworth Common site.

The plan will use information obtained from the visit to Padworth Common, skills obtained from the module and information you can obtain from the literature.

Your management plan should include the following.

For the overall site:
Policy statement and background preamble

Description

Vision for the site

Confirmation and evaluation of features.

Then for the feature allocated to you:
Current condition of feature

Factors, factors’ operational limits

Objectives (including limits) for feature

Management projects and rationale (reasons)

Monitoring projects for feature (and factors) and rationale

Summary work plan for your feature

The write-up of the management plan should be no more than 3,000 words excluding tables, diagrams, references etc.  You must not exceed the word limit and should use tables or appendices where appropriate.

The plan should cover a five-year period and include a summary work plan i.e. action plan chart summarising the management projects, their timing and prioritising them. The management planning exercise should use the approach covered in the lecture on management planning.
