This Assignment (Literature Review) is an individual piece of work and must not exceed 2000 words (this word count does not include references, tables, figures, charts or appendixes).

Students must use their rigour, originality and creativity to write a Literature Review. The Literature Review must be related to a macroeconomic issue relevant to the UK. The content must contribute to the identification of viable economic solutions.

There are two options to choose the titles for the Literature Review; students must choose ONLY ONE OPTION:

A) students can freely decide the title and topic, or

B) students must select one of the proposed titles in this brief. These options are explained below.

Option A: Deciding a title and topic by your own initiative

In this option, students must choose a specific macroeconomic issue from the UK related to one of the following broad topics:

a) inequality and technology revolution

b) Business cycle and economic policies

c) Development of macroeconomic thinking and macroprudential policies.

d) Supply and demand for money and accommodative policies

e) Labour discipline model, wages and supply side shortages.

f) Fiscal and Monetary policy and inflationary effects.

h) The rise of crypto-tokens and exchange rates models.

Option B: Choosing one of the proposed titles in this brief

Students must focus on ONE of the following Literature Review titles:

1. Crypto-currencies, crypto-tokens and economic exuberance

2. Real estate market prices in the UK and accommodative monetary policy

3. Stock exchange crashes and long run economic growth

4. Meme stocks and market price setting mechanisms

5. Bonds and interest rates, is normalisation possible?
