Once the ethical challenge is clearly identified/ described (1-2 pages), you are asked to connect that challenge to existing theory and research and rationalize and justify your conclusions, making explicit connections to materials (Family Engagement and the Responsive Educator, Theories and Models for Family Engagement in Schools, Supporting Families as they parent today’s children, and diverse families) discussed/read in class and at least 2 additional peer reviewed research articles (2-4 pages), demonstrating that you understand that diversity is a part of families, cultures, and schools, and that complex human issues can interact with the delivery of special education services CEC 6.3.

Finally, you will suggest two strategies (supported by research/course materials) that are culturally responsive and relevant and may be applicable to better support the child, teacher, parent or administrator (2 pages). This will demonstrate that you can use professional Ethical Principles and Professional Practice Standards to guide their practice (CEC 6.1)
