Your company’s senior management is proposing to make cuts in the employee development budget in anticipation of an economic downturn.

Part A (2,750 words)
As a Human Resource Development manager, write a report to make a business case to persuade the senior management of an organisation of your choice on the importance to continue investing in employee development.

Your report should highlight the importance of employee development for individuals, organisation and society as a whole. In presenting your report, you will need to apply the theories, concepts and use evidence from academic literature and research to support your arguments.

You can address the organisation overall or focus on particular departmental training development priorities.

Choose 2/3 points from all three of these for the report and expand on it also remember to use relevant theories, concepts and evidence from academic literature.

Part B (8 slides, 500 words max – exclude references slides)
Prepare a set of PowerPoints slides (maximum of 8-slides) to summarise the report’s (Part A) salient points to be presented to the senior management.
