This first speech is designed to help you introduce yourself to the class as well as get you comfortable in front of your audience. Consider the many roles you play and the traits which make you unique.

Organize your presentation with an introduction, body and conclusion. You may have speaking notes to bring to the podium for your presentation.

2. Choose an object to illustrate and link your characteristics.

3. Consider descriptions and examples to clarify your selected characteristics and which you will share with the audience.

4. Organize and outline your speech ideas. (See example and template provided)

5. Type a complete-sentence outline of your speech which you will turn in prior to speaking

6. Submit your speech to Turn-it-in before your speaking date or grade will result in a zero

7. Prepare brief speaking notes — your presentation outline. Do not read directly from a script.

8. Practice delivery with your presentation outline.
