Now that you’ve read Beowulf and learned about narrative writing, it’s time to put the two together. For this checkpoint, you will choose one of the scenes below:

And write from the perspective of one of the following characters:
Beowulf
Grendel
King Hrothgar
Stick to the major plot points in the epic poem. You are expected to include the following:
A dramatic arc: exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution
An attention grabber at the beginning
Dialogue between the characters
Sensory details and descriptions (bring your story to life!)
Consistent tense and point of view
Your narrative should be 1-2 pages in length with double spacing and font no larger than 12pt.
