Addiction & Substance Abuse
You have been asked to present to a local community/church gathering to talk about substance abuse and addiction in your community. The group needs to know what they can do as individuals and as a group to address the growing issue. These are concerned adults who want to know more about the problem and how they can help.
Choose to create either a PowerPoint presentation or a pamphlet to be used in presenting to this community or church group.
In your Community Support PowerPoint or Pamphlet Assignment, discuss the prevalence of substance abuse and addiction and offer ways that communities can help.
Use at least three statistics regarding addiction, and give at least three ideas for how communities can help. The statistics should be explained in the presentation or pamphlet.
The information needs to be relevant to the group. The recommendations for helping need to be expanded and discussed in the pamphlet or in the script of the presentation.
You should use illustrations and graphics to make your presentation or pamphlet attractive and help the reader or listener to be interested in the information.
Make sure to document your sources in current APA formatting. Sources of information should have been published within the last five years.
