This is what he wrote. A state coalition advocating for the policy concern of domestic violence that I found was through the New York State website. On May 13, 2022, our Governor signed legislation protecting victims of domestic violence from discrimination (OPDV n.d.a). The legislation expanded assistance for the victims for housing, education as well as other accommodations in public areas; according to (PODV, n.d.a), the writings suggest that there is now more protection for the victims from discrimination as there was no previous guaranteed help with things such as housing, education, and public accommodations (OPDV, n.d.a). The coalition partners identified would be on various levels as the page talks about community involvement and scheduled meetings on which one can log in to participate in a survivor’s workshop. The identified leader appears to be on a state level and would most likely be monitored. Participation and numbers of those participating would be assumed to be the place for statistical upkeep, and funding would be received from there, too (OPDV, n.d.b). At this time, I cannot identify successes; however, there is an indication of strong leadership as this topic is being brought to light, and there are projects underway in 2021; the OPVD held the very first survivor Listening session as a way to move toward the strategy of a survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive domestic violence delivery system (OPVD n.d.b). I want to ask for my upcoming interview if the information about these meetings would be available from the works of this coalition. I think more people would like to know more about what is discussed before joining. I want to look around and read personal stories myself and be assured of the group dynamics. Of course, the report could not disclose the names of attendees; however, maybe meeting minutes offer more intrigue. I would defiantly listen in for a better understanding. It is crazy to think, and according to the (OPVD n.d.b) site, there has not been a new model change within domestic issues for 40 years.
