1.Discuss some of the problems that might be encountered when implementing OSHA’s machine guarding standards in the workplace. Do you feel that the standards are adequate to control machine guarding hazards in general industry? Why, or why not?

2. Two employees were welding brackets onto an oil storage tank. The tank, half-full, contained explosive atmospheres of vapor from waste chemical and oil materials from truck stations. One worker was killed when the tank exploded and the top was blown off. In your opinion, using the standards we discussed in this unit, what citations are likely to be issued by OSHA?
