Business Information
In this exercise, you will be asked to search business information about industries, companies in your community.
This is a search exercise for business information. You are asked to complete three search strings:
1. Use Statistical Abstract of the U.S.(https://statabs.proquest.com/sa/ ) or American Community Survey(ACS) (https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/acs/) to find the general population of your town/state who work for two of businesses/industries like retail, health, restaurant, factory, company or organization.
2. Search one of the USM business databases “Nexis Uni” or “NetAdvantage” or ” IBIS” to find each company’s profile.
3. Search the USM database ” Business Source Complete” BSI or through EBSCO to cite information to determine if their stocks still perform strong (use keywords to combine “company name” AND “swot analysis” )
To complete:
a. Report the type of industry for each company
b. Provide basic data about each company in terms of stock performance ( Tip: search “Company profile” > SWOT analysis, indicating stocks going up or down)
c. submit your answers in a word.doc
