The Gospel: Read 2 Timothy 1:9–11. What is this “gospel” Paul consistently preaches throughout his epistles, and how is it received?
The Gospel Paul preaches is of God’s grace and purpose. The sacrifice of his Son bore the weight of our sins and established a relationship that brings us life from death. The Gospel is the good news of Christ’s coming, crucifixion and resurrection. In 2 Timothy 2:10, he says, “Salvation in Christ, with eternal glory.” When Paul received the gospel, he established a relationship with the disciples and they believed he was no longer persecuting Christians. Though to some it may not have been well received as he radically put his life on the line. But the radical things he did which led him to prison only allowed him to reach different groups of people. He used every opportunity to communicate the gospel no matter where he was located. It was evident the Holy Spirit prepared the way.
Personal Walk: Read 1 Timothy 4:7–8, 16. How do you plan to maintain your personal walk with God throughout this course? In other words, how do you plan to “discipline” yourself for godliness as you seek to be a Christian leader?
I plan to maintain my personal walk with God throughout the next 8 weeks through reading the word, prayer, and worship. Though my classes allow for a lot of time in the word it is important to be disciplined outside of school studies. Over the next eight weeks, I am implementing an earlier wake-up time to spend more independent time in the word of God and in prayer. When it comes to my morning routine, I am not disciplined in waking up with enough time to have an extended amount of time in the word. I may find extra time later in the day but I am more likely to pick up a textbook to catch up on school than personal time with God. Additionally, I plan to set one of those days aside to spend more time in prayer and worship. I will continue to worship with the community at church services and serve in the local church. Preparing and leading a weekly Bible study and cultivating community.
Prayer Request: How can your fellow students pray for you as you begin this course?
Pray for discipline for schoolwork. For financial support for my wife and I to go oversea’s to Japan to share the gospel and help the church.

The Gospel: Read 2 Timothy 1:9–11. What is this “gospel” Paul consistently preaches throughout his epistles, and how is it received?
The gospel that the Apostle Paul is preaching and teaching about is the good news of Jesus Christ. Paul teaches in his epistles that there is salvation through Jesus Christ (John 3:16-17)[1]. We know that the gospel is received by faith and anyone who believes can receive salvation. The gospel is also the good news that Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sins when he went to Calvary. This was in the exchange for God’s forgiveness of our sinful ways. It also allowed us to not be lineages by God’s wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10). The Gospel is the good news that also allows us to obtain God’s love and his mercy. No matter who you are, we need both of these along with God’s grace to make it in this Christian journey. We also receive God’s saving grace (2 Corinthians 5:19) Overall, the grand message of the gospel is that “salvation is possible for everyone through faith in Jesus Christ.
Personal Walk: Read 1 Timothy 4:7–8, 16. How do you plan to maintain your personal walk with God throughout this course? In other words, how do you plan to “discipline” yourself for godliness as you seek to be a Christian leader?
We all know that the Christian life is a life that requires serious discipline. God has called us to be set apart from the world, and to be holy since the beginning of time. Through out the Bible, we have read in numerous occasions that We as God’s people must discipline ourselves for the sake of Godliness. This is why we must be careful that we do not let our every day hustle and bustle interfere with our spiritual walk. Throughout this course, my plan is to see God when I feel overwhelmed. It’s also my plan to ask him to help me clarify my beliefs through the Scriptures that we are asked to expound on. It is very essential that we maintain a personal relationship with God. In first Timothy 4:7-8, The apostle Paul reminds Timothy that he must discipline himself for godliness. In order for us to discipline ourselves for godliness when it comes to this course, there are a few things that we can do to help us do just that. We should set a time each day where we should commune with God and ask him for help with focus and patience to do our assignments. We should also have a godly mentor that we can reach out to if things get difficult. This helps us with accountability and to stay on track with what we are trying to do. Just like with our school assignments, we must be very intentional when it comes to our relationship with God as well as putting forth the effort to do the work. Even in the midst of all of this, integrity plays a serious part. As Christians, we are called to live life that will reflect the truth that is the Gospel. As a Christian leader going forward, I plan to spend more time with God. I plan to do so by praying read the Bible and fasting more than what I have been doing before. This is the start of how I will discipline myself for godliness
Prayer Request: How can your fellow students pray for you as you begin this course?
As we begin this course that will lead us to the end of this degree plan, I know I will need prayer. I would ask everyone to pray for me as I am trying to balance school, work, Pastoring, and my family as we have welcomed a newborn baby girl. I also ask that you all would pray for my focus to keep going forward and my health as it has been an uphill battle since I’ve had Covid-19. It really has been a journey, and I’m excited to be here in this moment. As you all pray for me, I will pray for you as well.
