Technological shifts in the innovation of social media platforms have greatly impacted the scope and direction of marketing goods and services towards embracing social media influence to reach their target customers. The Millennials have proved to be a worthy target as most companies are shifting operations and marketing strategies to appeal to the younger generation as potential customers.

Identification of Company Marketing Strategies
One notable company that is modifying operations to attract millennial customers through social media marketing services is Facebook through social networking applications such as Instagram. According to an article by Brenton, Instagram applies two distinctive marketing strategies that attract and will continue to invite more millennial customers in the future (Brenton, 2017). The first feature is online shopping, which creates a sense of convenience at a push of a button. Digital shopping offers an array of preferences quickly, attracting millennial customers who might have limited time to visit actual shops. Social media engagement is the second feature that attracts millennial customers to online shopping, especially on Instagram. Companies and retailers can open online accounts and even post multiple pictures of their products. This means that the customers can ask questions, make comments, and even order their purchases from the comfort of their homes (Helal et al., 2018). Young adults are believed to be easily distracted. Therefore, Instagram ensures that convenience and engagement entice the younger generation to make purchases from online shops.

Nonetheless, social media marketing needs to improve its marketing skills to attract more millennial customers in the future. This means that advertisements should focus on age groups rather than the general public. According to Stankevich (2017), building on a firm customer relationship with millennial customers is an approach that can be applied to lure customers toward digital shops. This can be achieved by hosting conversations with millennial influencers who will review the product. The conversations can also include millennial customers, whereby the online shop ensures to keep the discussion n the matters affecting the young customers. Inclusion is a fundamental concept when it comes to ensuring customer satisfaction.
