Animal Dreams Short Research Assignment
Stitch and Bitch comes up against corporate America poisoning their water source and ultimately their way of life in Grace. They try a great many strategies in order to save their town, families and culture. Likewise, many would argue that capitalism, materialism and corporate greed are ruining America today.
Examine current events over the last few years and look for a group or individual that has taken on big business or the government and won. Compare their struggle to the struggle of the Stitch and Bitch club in Grace.
Do you feel that the book Animal Dreams presents a timely argument in terms of the environmental impact of corporations?
Do you feel that regular Americans are able to stand up to corporate greed in order to protect the environment?
On the other hand, do you feel that there isn’t a problem with corporations abusing their power and destroying the environment? Explain, using examples from current issues as well as from the book Animal Dreams.
