Organizational culture plays a critical role in a company’s overall success, employee happiness, and productivity in the work environment. When an organization has a strong culture, three things happen:

Employees know how top management wants them to respond to situations (JOSSO 2 by Atricore, n.d.)
Employees believe that the expected response is the proper one (JOSSO 2 by Atricore, n.d.)
Employees know they will be rewarded for demonstrating the organization’s values (JOSSO 2 by Atricore, n.d.)

By defining the proper way to behave within the organization, employees will often feel more inspired as they understand their core mission, vision, and how to succeed in the work environment (JOSSO 2 by Atricore, n.d.). This positive work culture creates a strategic competitive advantage as the core beliefs and values within the organization are held widely by the masses (JOSSO 2 by Atricore, n.d.). Therefore, at all levels, employees are implementing the company’s strategic vision and thus expanding the organization’s goals. Additionally, Kaado (2023) states that while organizational culture is important for the CEO to implement, job seekers also look for a positive work culture when selecting an organization. Employees often say that “company culture is a top priority for potential jobs, which means a positive workplace culture is more crucial than ever” (Kaado, 2023).
