THINK about what the world might look like through the eyes of a living being that is not human. What challenges does this creature face in its daily life? What are this creature’s thoughts, motivations, actions, and surroundings?

In your short story, be sure to:

maintain a clear focus on the main event of the story—the challenging experience in the narrator’s life

organize your short story in a logical way, including a beginning, middle, and end with a central conflict and resolution

use a consistent first-person point of view, in which the nonhuman narrator tells about.the challenging experience in his or her life

develop your story with appropriate details, using dialogue and description that moves the plot forward

clearly express the insight the narrator gained from the challenging experience

think carefully about the words you choose to develop the characters, setting, and tone of the story /hen you have finishe ing, review your work for correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, id capitalization.
