In February 2023, Canadian singer Jully Black performed at an all-star NBA game in Salt Lake City Stadium and changed one word in her rendition of Canada’s national anthem. Black changed the first line in the renowned ‘O Canada’ anthem, from “our home and native land” to “our home on native land” in order to draw attention to Indigenous rights in Canada.
