Objectives for this course include:
Analyze global fashion trends within the product and services marketplace

Compare fashion trends in history and popular culture

Examine trend spotting, megatrends and the process of Long-Term forecasting

Identify marketplace dynamics and statistical patterns to better understand the voice of the consumer

Analyze theories of fashion diffusion

This project is designed to allow you to implement these course objectives in a hands-on experience. Apply principles that we have been (and will continue to be) discussing in class lectures as well as your readings.

Design a trend forecasting video using the following concepts discussed in class:

Analyze current issues and trends and the impact that they play in today’s fashion world—include the issues in your video clip that influence/impact the trend you are forecasting.

Apply the theory of fashion diffusion that is displayed in your fashion trend forecast

Terminology such as fashion movement, diffusion of innovation, culture and forecasting, color forecasting, textile forecasting, and etc… from your readings and lectures should be used throughout your trend forecast.

Consumer Research and Sales forecasting information must also be included.

Submit a 4-minute video with audio on the due date given to the D2L drop box to complete this assignment. In addition to the video clip link a word document reference sheet must also be submitted to the drop box on the due date.
