Chile’s innovation affected by SI NO-CHILE FTA
Currently, the relationship that Chile has with China is one of the most reliable in Latin America. Chile, being the first Latin American country to sign a free-trade agreement with China supported the entry of China into the WTO and recognized it as a free market economy.
This led to a solid establishment of China’s new role by Chile as a strategic partner through an aggressive strategy which fostered their closeness. Such is what resulted in the negotiations and signing of an FTA in 2006 (Herrero p. 3).
