Carbohydrates…to eat or not to eat?
Students must post with well researched responses pertaining to the questions provided about the topic: Carbohydrates. Information must be cited from reputable sources, which supports their responses. If a citation isn’t included, full points will not be given. It’s acceptable to use your textbook as a resource.

Discussion board posts are considered COMPLETE if it is at least 300 words minimum, contains well-researched and properly cited facts and includes proper grammar and punctuation.

Replies are not expected to be as bulky as posts, however they should include a reasonable rebuttal or addition to the discussion, adding a reference can help meet the criteria of 150 words minimum. Remember, full credit goes towards students who complete a post as well as reply to 2 different classmates (20 pts max).

Carbohydrates are a hot topic! So many current fad diets say “no” to carbohydrates. But, nutrition professionals recommended that the bulk of the diet should be healthy carbohydrates (fruits, veggies and whole grains), while limiting certain carbs that may be full of empty calories (processed sugar) and can be the reason for weight gain. What are your findings on carbohydrates after reading our chapter? What stood out to you?
