Scenario:
You manage a loan processing team of 6 for a financial services company. You have been in this position for 6 months. The team recently went through a system upgrade to the loan processing system. The team struggled through this change and continues to have problems adjusting to the new system resulting in a backlog of loans.
Customers are angry. The team is frustrated, stressed, and tired. To make matters worse your Manager met with you today to let you know that productivity is down and that the district manager has indicated that the loan backlog has to be cleaned out in two weeks.
This means that you will need the team to work together and work overtime in the next two weeks in order to accomplish this. You need all team members on board and committed to meet this deadline.
Consider the above situation. You have scheduled a meeting with the team. Your assignment is to discuss the approach you will take in this meeting. As the leader of this team, you need to influence your team to work together and commit to accomplishing this goal. What will be your approach? Based on what you have learned this week about power and influence tactics your essay should include the following:
Describe your plan and approach
What influence tactics will you use? (Week 3 – Lecture #1).
Select at least three influence tactics and detail how you will apply these tactics to influence your team. State your rationale for selecting each tactic.
Prepare an APA formatted, double-spaced 2-3-page paper. Use the information presented this week as well as information from at least one additional outside credible source. Cite your resources appropriately with references and in-text citations in accordance with APA style.
