Identify process and outcome metrics that you will use to determine problem resolution [describe ways to measure process and outcomes]

The business case study presentation is a model for presenting a topic or issue relevant to healthcare management to the class consultant and peer students. The case study presentation is a common tool for evaluating business issues, developing strategies and techniques of completing business goals. Students will complete and submit this template before their webinar presentations. Each student presents a minimum of four case presentations during the semester. A completed copy of this form will be submitted through for each presentation prior to the weekly consultation meeting.

PREPARING FOR THE CASE PRESENTATION

The following items in this section simply provide guidance for “thinking through” your case. Given the time constraints, do not attempt to include all of the information in your final case presentation. See the “Guidelines for the Business Case Presentation” for detailed instructions.

1) Requests for case consultation and guidance [What do you need from the consultation group reviewing your case study?] The LGBTQ Health Center where  currently interning has been up and running for three years now.

Currently, they do not have their own quality improvement initiative as they are operating at a level 3 with separate entities under one roof. The main health center has an elementary quality improvement survey that does not capture the specific services that are offered there.

In keeping with the community’s request to have an all LGBTQ administrative and clinic staff, the program director was limited when it came to the program manager position. In the end, she hired a gay male now who is going for his Master’s of Public Health and has absolutely no experience working in a healthcare setting.

In the process of creating a comparative survey asking the LGBTQ staff and patients to be their experience with a non-specialty provider versus a specialty provider.

Additionally, the additional demographics will add five more questions to the survey, making it longer to complete, and based on the gender-specific questions, this may confuse them. We seem to be at a crossroads with this and need help in negotiating with the program manager and understanding my concerns.
