Current Event

Apply U.S. Federal pay regulations to a current event/news story.

For this assignment, you must pick a compensationrelated, realworld current event/news story that 1) has occurred within the last 3 years and 2) relates to one of the federal laws in Ch. 17. It is important to note that the current event and the applicable law must relate directly to compensation.

For example, if your current event relates to a discrimination lawsuit under the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, it must be related to discrimination in compensation/pay/etc. and not in other areas of HR (hiring, firing, training, etc.). Do some research on this current event by finding at least two (2) supporting articles/news stories that discuss this event. You must use reputable news sources/professional associations/valid sources.

Do not use Wikipedia, blogs, or other “personal viewpoint” sources. Include links to your sources at the end of your document (formal citations are not needed).

Write in complete sentences and include all of the information specified below. Make sure to thoroughly describe/explain each required section. There are no length requirements expect at least 12 paragraphs for each section.
