3 Character Dialogue Exercise
Choose from one of the writing prompts below. Be sure to write dialogue for all 3 characters in the scene. You may also make up your own scenario, so long as it involves 3 characters.
Three friends on a road trip. Each has a different taste in music and keeps trying to change the radio to suit his/her specific taste. Each defends his/her preferences and criticizes the others’.
A divorce lawyer goes over a list of assets that are being split between a separated husband and wife. Everything is going smoothly, until he reaches one particular item on the list.
Three pirates look to the dark ocean at dusk from their ship. They share stories of strange things they have seen out at sea.
A woman saw a creepy clown in her neighborhood and called the police. Two police officers arrive and interview the woman, asking questions about what the clown looked like.
Three friends sit around a campfire. One tells a story about something supernatural that happened in his or her past. One friend believes the storyteller, and the other does not.
