Post the results from your “family survey”.Are dominant traits also the more common traits and does a dominant trait have to be the common trait?

Family Fun – Consider which version you have of the following traits

Hairline: widow’s peak (forms a downward point in the middle of your forehead) is dominant; straight hairline is recessive.

Earlobes: unattached is dominant; attached is recessive.

Interlacing fingers: left over right is dominant; right over left is recessive. (To check this one, fold your hands together in your lap with your fingers laced together. Then look at your thumbs. Is the left thumb on top? If yes, you are “left over right”. If no, if the right thumb is on top, then you are “right over left”.)

If possible, take inventory of your parents, siblings, spouse, children or anyone else related to you. (This is not required, but neat!)

1) Post the results from your “family survey”. For example, if you are in a family of four: 3 with a widow’s peak, 1 with a straight hairline; all four with attached earlobes; 2 with left over right and 2 with right over left.

2) Now for the questions… Are dominant traits also the more common traits? Does a dominant trait have to be the common trait? Why or why not?

There is three people living in the household. (Mom,Dad and I) (Female)
